1. National Livelihoods Resource Institute (NLRI)

GVT has established a state-of- the art National Livelihoods Resource Institute (NLRI) on the picturesque locale outside the city of Ratlam in Bhadwasa Village in Jaora block of Madhya Pradesh. This flagship initiative of GVT will become a repository of GVT's experiences of the past two decades that it intends to share with a wider audience through an annual calendar of client responsive activities like interactive training, participatory research and appreciative inquiry into the intricate interlinked world of rural livelihoods. The services on offer are tailor made to suit the emerging needs of the donor projects, public private partnerships, and government programs and last but not the least, local communities and their leadership. NLRI has established its own nursery to meet the requirement of the plants for the Institute and the farmers also.

 

(a) School of Rural Management (SRM): GVT runs a School of Rural Management (SRM) to provide certificate, diploma and degree courses and is affiliated to a Rural University Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidalya.

(b) Geographic Information System (GIS) Lab: GVT uses a field lab facility for its GIS related projects & activities. It uses a software called RVYS 10.1 to develop monitoring and measurement framework and provides GIS based solution for watershed activities.

 

2. Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK)

KVK at Godda, Jharkhand was established by GVT in 2006 and is supported by ICAR. The objective behind this was to disseminate the low cost innovative technologies and accelerating agricultural and allied production through acquisition of vocational application of appropriate technologies and inputs. Teaching by doing, and learning by doing are the main principles for imparting skill training. The emphasis is on improving the socio-economic conditions of weaker sections of the society by generating income oriented self employment opportunities to make them economically self-reliant. KVK has a team of experienced professionals under forestry, agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry.
