Capitalizing on its two decades of experience in the field of rural development addressing various issues of the marginalised communities and to provide sustainable livelihood options to them, GVT now undertakes various studies like Monitoring & Evaluation, Impact Assessment, Baseline Surveys, and Need Based Assessments etc. Some of the major studies that has been carried out so far by GVT pertain to NREGA, Tribal Relocation from core tiger reserves, at Nagarholle National Park in Karnataka. This study was awarded to GVT by National Tiger Conservation Authority, NTCA, New Delhi, Baseline Surveys under Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR for LANCO Pvt Ltd and NTPC, Impact Assessment of National Afforestation Programme, NAP being implemented by Forest Development Agencies, Impact Assessment of Total Sanitation Campaign, National Level Field verification of Panchayats under the scheme of PEAIS of Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
GVT has also been selected as the "Technical Support Institution" TSI by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj to provide handholding support to Panchayat functionaries in formulation of Annual and Integrated Perspective Plans in 22 districts in five states of Madhya Pradesh (5 districts), Rajasthan (4 districts), Bihar (5 districts), Jharkhand (4 districts) and West Bengal (4 districts). etc. Till 2011 GVT has carried out around 110 developmental studies covering 67 districts and around 14,000 families.
