Gateway Agency for Rural Business Hub (RBH)

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Govt. of India has identified Gramin Vikas Trust as Gateway Agency for facilitation of the Rural Business Hub in Ranchi and Deoghar districts of Jharkhand in order to identify the local products/skills that hold good business potential and mobilizing convergence of different schemes and institutions that hold the key inputs for setting up RBHs through Private –Public-Panchayat-Partnership.

Partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Limited
Since the survey work has been done by GVT in Jhabua for energy plantations on revenue waste land and contract farming model has been completed and accepted. Subsequently IOC has principally agreed to involve us in the implementation of the project.

Research into Use (RIUP) Project

GVT has been awarded with FCRA project on Improving Livelihoods in Tribal areas of India through sustained access to technologies in Rainfed areas with outlay of 103 Lacs for the period of three years to be implemented in Jhabua MP and Dhamtari, Chattisgarh, Ranchi and Godda in Jharkhand and Baripada in Orissa covering four states. The Project is funded by DFID through CAZS, Bangor, UK and being implemented in their partnership.

Impact Study of Upland Rice Varieties
GVT is currently undertaking an action research study in the states of MP, Rajasthan and Jharkhand with an outlay of 19 lacs for three months as part of RIUP.

Skill-Upgradation at Dahod
Skill Development Training Project on four trades e.g. Mason, Shuttering Carpentry & Bar Binding, Plumbing and General Supervisor is implemented with specific target to train 5000 construction sector workers. 17 batches of Mason skill development training programme has successfully completed including 6 female batches. In this training, total 455 trainees including 155 female trainees trained on mason trade.

Eklavya School Project — Dahod
Looking into the success of skill up-gradation programme in Dahod, and Construction of Eklavya School Building in Vejalpur in District of Godhra within a record time of 62 days by our trainees under internship mode. Principal Secretary, Tribal Development, Govt of Gujarat has principally agreed to fund GVT for establishing a high-tech skill development Centre in Dahod.

Migrant Labour Support Programme through NLRI, Ratlam
After the successful implementation of MLSP under DFID till June, 2007, GVT has initiated MLSP Project in Ratlam district from June, 2007-July 2008 with the support of Asian Development Bank. The project focused on very poor and poor families from the rural villages and provided services to woman and children through 5 Palayan Seva Kendra (PSK) and catered to the need of 46 villages. Key achievements of the project are:

  1. 1. 3,575 migrant road construction laborers registered
  2. 2,564 PSK identity card and employment book has been provided
  3. 670 migrant labour covered in insurance scheme
  4. Rs. 67,000.00 death compensation provided to 2 families
  5. 620 labourers linked up with State Govt. Deen Dayal Antoday Yojana

WADI Programme in Bero & Lapung blocks of Ranchi district
National Bank For Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has awarded Integrated Tribal Development Programme to GVT undr the title “WADI (Orchards)” of Mango & Litchi for 1000 tribal families of two blocks of Ranchi District covering 37 villages. The objective of the project is to develop the Agro-horticulture based system for the improvement of Livelihood & socio-economic condition of the tribal poor. The duration of the Project is for 7(seven) years with total funding of Rs. 412.91 lakhs (Rs. 392.91 lakhs as grant and Rs. 20 lakhs as loan component). Presently the loan component is not being used. This project provides for 15.80% as management cost. We have initiated the activities under this project.

Full Implementation Phase (FIP) of Kerabar Watershed, Ranchi
On successful completion of the Capacity Building Phase of the Kerawar Watershed project at Chainpur in Gumla of Jharkhand, NABARD has awarded the Full Implementation Phase of Kerabar Watershed in Chainpur, Gumla with financial assistance of Rs. 72. 50 lakhs for three years.

Capacity Building Phase (CBP) in Purulia, West Bengal
NABARD has awarded a Capacity Building Phase (CBP) Project on Watershed in Pairachali, West Bengal in February, 2008 with financial implication of Rs. 6.00 lakhs.
